 The 5th forum on cross-border cooperation in a wider Europe took place in Kirkenes, Norway on 7 November (and on 6 November in Nickel, in Russia, on the other side of the border).This Forum, organised by the Barents Secretariat, was the 5th of this kind. Representatives from national and regional authorities and civil society organisations of 14 countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine) met to discuss about t the different aspects of cross-border cooperation in a wider Europe.The panel on "possibilities and limits of CBC on borders suffering from various kinds of obstacles' addressed the capacity of CBC practitioners to implement CBC despite politicalcrisis and brought together panellists from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Moldova. Another panel focused on CBC as an important tool of cooperation between the EU and its eastern neighbours. The next forum will take place in 2015 in Slovakia.
