6th Global PFD Meeting

More than 80 representatives of civil society organisations (CSOs), local authorities (LAs), the private sector, EU Member States and the EU institutions gathered in Brussels from 20 - 22 March for the 6th Global Meeting of the Policy Forum on Development. Three days full of debate and exchanges during which the participants discussed many of the most urgent development issues today including the question of how to create a more enabling environment for CSOs and LAs; how to guarante policy coherence for development between the actors involved and within institutions; a local approach to migration; the role of local governments and decentralised cooperation; new financial instruments and the mobilisation of domestic resources as well as post-2020 agreements such as the new multi-annual financial framework and the Post-Cotonou agreement currently under preparation.

The next PFD meeting is scheduled for October 2018. It will be a regional Africa meeting to be held in Gabarone, Botswana.
