Duringthis week the Project Positioning of forest governance in Colombia (which is funded by the European Union and led by CARDER) Group together for Voluntary Forest Certification in Colombia, have started the training phase to new companies begin the process of certification under the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

This activityis carried out in the framework of the agreement between the Project and the Working Group,

which aims to "combine efforts to advance technical actions necessary for the operational validation of the first revision of the standard for voluntary forest certification in bamboo at Colombia”

In addition, the agreement's goal is to consolidate the process of Voluntary Forest Certification Bamboo´s Corporation, and leave the way prepared for the audit visit this year.


Similarly, it has sought to integrate the process of the processing companies in the coffee zone, which have expressed interest to start the preparatory stage Voluntary Forest Certification, which implies: Purchases of raw materials hundred percent legal that can demonstrate traceability , standardization of production processes, among other things.

Certain companies have started training are:


Torre Bamboo, Ecoguadua and tecniambiental.


Also, the project has considered strategic link design and printing companies, searching that their activities are conducted using paper from forests that are certified Voluntary Forest, which is a tool to ensure sustainable management of the resource and its making future conservation.
