Africa food-shock following El Nino

Grim perspectives this interactive food-shock presentation !! It is to be hoped that the first African Drought Conference held in Namibia  (15-19 August 2016) with support from UNCDD to discuss ways to “Enhancing Resilience to Drought Events on the African Continent”, will have brought some answers.

Especially if put in relation to FAO’s recent publication ‘The  Agriculture Sectors in the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions'  that assesses the role of the agriculture sectors (crops, livestock, fisheries and aquaculture, as well as forestry) in meeting national mitigation and adaptation goals through Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs).
