Alastair HERD's interview - FLEGT Week 2012

Alastair HERD, Project Manager at The Forest Trust (TFT), explained that TFT in partnership with a number of European Timber Trade Federations manages the Timber Trade Action Plan (TTAP), a project funded by the European Commission in 2005, which aims to reduce the trade in illegal wood products and contribute to sustainable forest management.

The TTAP is having positive impacts in the timber sector of focus countries, as well as in Europe through communication about FLEGT, VPA's and the Illegal Timber Regulation.

TFT provides different supports and is involved in several process for helping companies and communities to anticipate the changing requirements of EC legislation and to deliver responsible products.
