Algeria: the state supports the price of electricity produced from solar energy

The price of electricity produced from solar energy in the wilaya of the South will be supported by the State.

C'est ce qu'a affirmé le 6 mai 2010 le ministre de l'Énergie et des Mines, M. Chakib Khelil. This was affirmed May 6, 2010 the Minister of Energy and Mines, Chakib Khelil. Le ministre a expliqué que ce soutien se fera en dépit du coût élevé de cette énergie renouvelable. The Minister explained that this support will be in spite of the high cost of renewable energy.

M. Khelil a indiqué que « le prix de l'électricité produite à partir de l'énergie solaire ne changera pas grâce au soutien de l'État et à la promotion de l'utilisation des énergies renouvelables ». Khelil said that "the price of electricity produced from solar energy will not change through state support and promotion of the use of renewable energy." Évoquant le bilan du plan national de soutien aux énergies renouvelables, le premier responsable du département de l'énergie a rappelé, à cet effet, la réalisation d'une station de production d'électricité à partir de l'énergie solaire et du gaz à Hassi Rmel, devant produire cette année 150 mégawatts d'électricité ainsi que le lancement d'un projet de production d'électricité éolienne avec une capacité de 10 mégawatts dans la wilaya d'Adrar. Commenting on the results of the national renewable energy support, the first head of the Department of Energy has pointed to this end, the realization of a station generating electricity from solar energy and gas Hassi Rmel to produce this year to 150 megawatts of electricity and the launch of a proposed wind power generation with a capacity of 10 megawatts in the wilaya of Adrar.

Selon M. Khelil, la production d'électricité à partir de l'énergie solaire concerne actuellement une vingtaine de localités à l'extrême Sud et 16 wilayas en attendant sa généralisation dans d'autres régions. According to Khelil, the production of electricity from solar energy currently covers twenty localities in the extreme south and 16 wilaya pending its prevalence in other regions. Il a ajouté que les énergies renouvelables pourraient contribuer à la production d'énergie en Algérie à hauteur de 5 % en 2017 et de 35 % en 2040. He added that renewable energy can contribute to energy production in Algeria to 5% in 2017 and 35% in 2040.

Saluant le fonds national des énergies renouvelables qui procède à des retenues de 0,5% des recettes fiscales pétrolières pour le financement de ces projets, le ministre a noté que le projet de réalisation d'un institut de développement des énergies renouvelables aura un rôle important dans ce domaine. Commending the National Renewable Energy Fund, which conducts retained 0.5% of oil revenues to finance these projects, the Minister noted that the proposed creation of an institute for developing renewable energy will play an important in this area.
