Annual Meeting Pact for Legal Timber in Colombia.

The Annual Meetingof the Pact for Legal Timber in Colombia, to be held in Bogota on October 9, aims to provide analysis on goals accomplished in the first year of ratification PIMLC. Similarly, the meeting is to discuss goals achievements and chart outlook for the next period.
To the activity wereinvited 110 entities, of which 57 are signatories of the pact and the rest are linked through regional agreements for Legal Timber.

The general aim of the PIMLC is:"ensure that timber harvested, processed, marketed and used in Colombia, comes only from legal sources", in that sense, one of the tools that emerges from the Covenant and is essential to achieve that end, are regional agreements, which similarly link the different entities involved in the forest sector at the departmental level, to coordinate efforts and wills to ensure legality in timber production chain.
During the project activity Positioning of forest governance in Colombia, which is funded by the European Union, has scheduled a Managerial Committee, to be attended by the directors of the 11 regional autonomous corporations Members of the action.
