Building on EU’s Domestic Experience in Inclusive Green Economy – case 4: the Life Programme, by the SWITCH to Green facility
Discussion details

The Life programme, one of the main EU financial instrument supporting environmental, nature conservation and climate action projects throughout the EU, exists since 1992 and has co-financed some 4306 projects. For the 2014-2020 period, it contributes approximately € 3.4 billion to the protection of the environment and climate. LIFE is a major source of lessons and inspiration for international cooperation on the green economy, considering the programme experience in areas such as green jobs promotion and support to SMEs in the circular economy.
The programme is open to the participation of third countries and provides for activities outside the EU. It also provides a framework for cooperation with international organisations.
The case study gives a full overview of the programme, synthesizes its key achievements and provides a wealth of links to practical experience and background information, as well as a summary of the lessons learned. It is available at https://www.switchtogreen.eu/?p=1258
