Can you help to go circular and shape a pollution free planet? Follow the webinar on 25 June!
Discussion details
The EU Green Deal wants to achieve such an economy and world. But what does it mean in practice? What can we do to achieve it?
This is what you will find out in this webinar: what it is about and what can be done.
Not an easy task
Commissioner Frans Timmermans said: "Circular economy is key to putting our economy onto a sustainable path and delivering on the global Sustainable Development Goals. (…) At the same time more remains to be done to ensure that we increase our prosperity within the limits of our planet and close the loop so that there is no waste of our precious resources."
So there is indeed more at stakes than: "We reduce the amount of natural resources!".
- It is about finding business models that minimise the demands for natural resources across value chains. And this without compromising economic and social returns. Because that creates resistance: "Do we have to lower our standard of living for this?"
- And how can this work on national, regional or global scale? How to find the arguments to convince the stakeholders to create international partnerships?
- And what can you do?
The webinar will provide relevant country, value-chain and city-level examples of how a CE and a zero-pollution transition can work in practice. And what this implies for development actors.
Colleagues working on very different topics are welcome!
The webinar, on 25 June (9.30-11hrs CET) is open to all EU staff working in delegations and at headquarters, dealing with cooperation areas related to circular economy and pollution, including private sector development, trade, economic integration, sustainable finance, employment, cities, environment and climate change, etc.
You can register and find more details via EULearn (EU Staff) and INTPA Academy (externals).
