The CAR reports delivered in real time to IDEAM

The Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies, IDEAM, expects the renewal of the National Forest Information System, SNIF, to take effect from next week.

This was reported at the Second Technical Committee 2013, the Project positioning Forest Governance, which manages Carder, with the approval of the European Union.

It is expected that the system which will be online platform, the Regional Autonomous Corporations, can have real-time indicators, and view the location of use, mobilizations, points seizures, among other things to identify sources of deforestation.

Regarding the results of the analysis of forestry statistics, during the event which takes place in Armenia, the Ideam recalled that between 1990 and 2010, there were 310.000 hectares of forest loss in Colombia. Another representative indicator is in the mobilization of forest products. While in 2000 there were 1.001.106 m3 in 2011 was 1.143.186 m3. The highest peak was presented in 2005 to 2.251.346 m3.

Since October 2012, the Ideam has an agreement with the Forest Governance project, which aims to share information that is obtained from the CAR, so review the shortcomings and complement the analysis do together.
