Conclusions of the Technical Committee of Legal Timber Pact in Colombia

  Last week the Technical Secretariat of the Pact for Legal Timber in Colombia conducted a training workshop with officials of the Public Establishment Environmental Cartagena (EPA).
The activity aimed to present the technical entity, control and monitoring tools that are used by the Environmental Authorities PIMLC attached during performance of inspection, in roads and places of wood processing and marketing.

The meetingwas held on 6 and 7 December in Bocana facilities in the city of Cartagena de Indias.
Among the entities that participated in the workshop, they find:
Public Development Agency (EPA).
Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.
Project Positioning of forest governance in Colombia.
DIAN.
District Department of the Environment.

Similarly,the workshop provided a platform to realize the accession to the Public Establishment Environmental Covenant, who in a public ceremony, headed by its Director: Norma Badran Arrieta, held firm that agrees to take the steps necessary to ensure that the wood harvested, transported, processed and marketed in its territory, comes only from legal sources.
