course on Local Leadership, 8 - 19 April 2013

The Hague Academy for Local Governance organises from 8 to 19 April 2013 the training course Leadership and Municipal Management. Application deadline is 11 February 2013.

The course aims to increase good leadership of local authorities by looking at three core competences: developing a vision, managing public services and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. During interactive sessions the participants will learn about the Leadership Benchmark as a comprehensive tool for improving leadership in local government. They discuss, together with international experts and practitioners from The Netherlands, how to develop a vision for their municipality, improve the financial management of the organisation and strengthen human resources, planning capacity and performance based management. Extra attention is paid to integrity as well as gender issues in leadership.
