Created 31 July 2017

CSOs were engaged and active at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) which wrapped up on July 19 with the Ministerial Declaration, laying out a path for moving forward toward achieving the SDGs.

CPDE shares its reaction to the Ministerial Declaration, acknowledging the inclusion of the right to development, gender equality, and the importance given to countries in special situations (such as contries in conflict and post-conflict situations). CPDE also expresses appreciation regarding the adoption of a Ministerial Declaration that continues the momentum of the process and adherence to people-centred and universal attributes of the 2030 Agenda.

However, CPDE is concerned with regard to several aspects of the Ministerial Declarations, including: a skewed Means of Implementation, the need for more inclusiveness of the 2030 Agenda process, and an absence of detail as to how multi-stakeholder partnerships will be strengthened.
