Devastating Cattle Plague Eradicated: Africa-Europe Partnership Wins the Fight Against Rinderpest

The eradication of Rinderpest from Africa marked a major milestone in the global history of human and animal disease control as it became the first animal disease to be eradicated worldwide.
This is the result of a long fought battle in which the European Union joined hands with African governments, the African Union and other international partner organisations over a period of 60 years.
On Monday 18 March, the EuropeAid Infopoint organised a lunchtime conference on this topic.
