#EDD2018: between 2 books!
Discussion details
The ongoing European Development Days are a major event bringing together the whole EU development community. Last year, the RNSF team attended to the EDD 2017 edition and presented the book “Extending coverage: social protection and the informal economy”, written during the first RNSF regional workshop in Nairobi.
One year later, the book is getting more and more recognition! The official platform SocialProtection.Org picked it in its list of valuable resources on the topic of informal work, together with the following publications:
- Organizing for Change: Workers in the Informal Economy (2018) by Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO)
- Social Protection for Informal Workers in Asia (2016) by the Asian Development Bank (ADB)
- Extending social insurance to informal workers: A gender analysis 2016 by the Overseas Development Institute (ODI)
- Extension of Social Protection to Workers in the Informal Economy In Zambia (2016) by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Irish Aid and the International Labour Organization (ILO)
The RNSF team expresses once again all the members of the IESF Group who contributed to the book! A second regional workshop about organizing and mobilizing informal workers was held in Lima last December and the book (in Spanish) will be published in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
