Energising Development

Discover what the European Commission does to help developing countries giving access to modern energy services to their populations, reinforce energy security and enhance good governance of the energy sector.

Around 30 case studies related to projects supported by the European Union were selected and are showcased.

These projects highlight the continued commitment of the European Union since 10 years for poverty eradication and sustainable development through energy access. From 2005 to 2011, the European Commission on its own invested € 2.1 billion in overseas development assistance on energy.
