Guyana and the EU jointly signed the roadmap for a Forest Partnership on 29 June. Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen tweeted: "Forests are like green gold. It has to be managed sustainably and preserved for generations to come! Forest Partnership with Guyana is taking shape. Today, we signed with Minister Bharrat the roadmap to reach the agreed targets."
Guyana and the EU strengthen collaboration to protect forests and combat deforestation
Following the entry into force of the EU-Guyana FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) in June 2023, a high-level Guyanese delegation visited Brussels to hold the first meeting of the body in charge of implementing the Agreement.
