The EU FLEGT Facility publishes a brief titled ‘How can a VPA contribute to poverty reduction?’

The EU FLEGT Action Plan and Voluntary Partnership Agreements are based on the European Union’s strong commitment to poverty reduction.

Authors M. Hobley and M. Buchy consider how VPAs might affect poverty and suggest ways to improve the positive outcomes of VPAs on poverty. They also examine the ways that VPAs might prevent or mitigate negative effects of VPA implementation.
