The EU Global Gateway Forestry Investment Mission to Guyana is organising an event on 4-6 June to invest in Guyana's green future for EU and Guyana companies. It will be proceeded by the introductory webinar on 11 March "Opportunities for EU companies in the forestry value chain in Guyana".

Guyana is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world and a key player in tackling climate change. It is one of the few countries defined as a high forest, low deforestation (HFLD) country and is considered a net carbon sink.

The moment is decisive for the country to further its fair green transition, in particular in the sectors highlighted in the EU-LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda (GGIA) . This agenda identifies concrete investment opportunities addressing the region's infrastructure needs. For Guyana, the Global Gateway Investment Agenda focuses on Health, Climate, Energy and Regional Connectivity.

These investments will be supported by accompanying measures creating a conducive regulatory and business environment, developing skills, and fostering innovation and technology transfers.
