Forest Partnership negotiations with Honduras
Discussion details
On the margin of the EU-CELAC Summit (17-18 July) the High Representative/Vice-President of the European Union, Borrell and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Enrique Reina discussed Forest Partnership negotiations.
“We want this agreement to serve to strengthen our bilateral dialogue, and we would like to do it for the benefit of both. For the benefit of Honduran society, but also of European society, because the fight against climate change, deforestation, or the construction of fairer societies, has positive effects for everyone”, Borrell said.

Forest Partnerships take a holistic approach and involve women, youth, indigenous peoples.
On the same day, the EU Ambassador, the Ambassador of France, the one of Germany, and the one of Spain passed positive messages on the VPA in Tegucigalpa, highlighting Honduras being the first LAC country to implement this binding agreement with the EU to combat illegal logging and deforestation.
