”A Jamaican Path from Hills to Ocean”, is a climate change adaptation project co-funded by the European Global Climate Change Alliance Plus (EUR 4.9 million), and the Government of Jamaica (EUR 1.9 million).

The project, which was originally set to begin in November 2020, was affected by COVID-19, will now be implemented in four watershed management units (WMUs) in Jamaica, the Wag Water and Rio Nuevo in St Mary, the Rio Bueno/White River in St. Ann and Trelawny.

The overall objective of the project is to increase resilience to climate change and reduce poverty by protecting livelihoods. A rapid ecological assessment was done by the University of The West Indies (UWI) in all the extension areas to ascertain the types of intervention that are required and to match resources to identified needs.
