How are we greening EU cooperation and development?
- Being aware of the linkages between environment, climate change and development.
- Building capacities to integrate environment and climate change into policies and investments/actions.
- Engaging in policy dialogue to promote environmentally sustainable and climate-smart development.
- Addressing environmental and climate-related challenges and opportunities in our programming documents, using tools such as Country Environmental Profiles.
- Identifying and formulating environmentally sustainable, climate resilient and low carbon actions; conducting strategic environmental and climate risk assessments where they can help.
- Integrating environment and climate-related measures in the implementation of actions and monitoring their impact, using appropriate indicators.
- Using evaluation results to improve the environmental and climate change performance of our projects and programmes.
- Communicating mainstreaming achievements and challenges and inspire others.
- Internalising green behaviour and practices in our daily lifestyle and work ethos.
The Environment and Climate Change Mainstreaming Facility offers remote and on-site assistance to EU staff and national partners, to integrate environment and climate change into all phases of the programme cycle of operations.
