International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Ingrid was awarded a grant funded by the SWM Programme in Gabon for her research on the blue duiker (Philantomba congica) reproduction rate in the Mulundu department. Her scientific efforts will mainly help assessing if hunting targeting this specie is sustainable. She is confident that her work will contribute to the implementation of innovative solutions that promote the traditions, culture and rights of communities.

Natacha is a PhD student who collaborates with the SWM Programme in Gabon, the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD) and the CIRMF Centre international de recherches médicales de Franceville (CIRMF. Her research project focuses on monitoring the risks of diseases transmitted by wildlife, especially within the bush meat value chain in Gabon.

These two inspiring women wish to motivate and encourage other women and girls in Gabon to undertake an academic and/or professional career in the field of science.
