 The UN High-level Panel (HLP) on the Post-2015 Development Agenda issued its final report yesterday at UN Headquarters in New York.

Commissioner Piebalgs is one of the 27 members of the HLP called by Ban –Ki – moon to advice on the global development framework beyond 2015. The report reflects the main messages of the European Commission's Communication "A decent life for all" released in February 2013.

 In the Post 2015 report, the HLP proposes examples of 12 goals:

 End Poverty;

  1. Empower Girls and Women and Achieve Gender Equality;
  2. Provide Quality Education and Lifelong Learning;
  3. Ensure Healthy Lives;
  4. Ensure Food Security and Good Nutrition;
  5. Achieve Universal Access to Water and Sanitation;
  6. Secure Sustainable Energy;
  7. Create Jobs, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Equitable Growth;
  8. Manage natural resource assets sustainably;
  9. Ensure good governance and effective institutions;
  10. Ensure stable and peaceful societies;
  11. Create a Global Enabling Environment and catalyse Long-Term Finance.
