Latin America - Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus+: Partnership in Higher Education

Supporting higher education in Latin America is a long-standing objective of the EU-LAC bi-regional partnership to provide the region with the knowledge and skills for addressing long-term developmental needs and to stimulate a more balanced and inclusive economic and social development of the region. Higher education is a priority area for EU regional cooperation with Latin America and its countries since the EU Regional Programmes for Latin America (LA) were first launched in the early 1990’s.
ERASMUS MUNDUS (2007-2013) and ERASMUS+ (2014-2020) are programmes that support cooperation between the EU and Latin America in the area of higher education. Projects involving relevant partners from the two regions contribute, amongst others, to improve career prospects of students and to enhance academic cooperation and networking of Higher Education Institutions.
