Discussion details

Below you will find an email invitation to participate in a very useful training session.

Wojciech

Dear colleagues,

My unit is often asked to provide ODA statistics for different purposes and on different donor and beneficiary countries, although desk officers should be able to extract such data from public sources, and such statistical service is not the role of A3. Therefore, we are organising mini-briefing sessions for colleagues who need to search ODA information on specific countries, sectors, themes, regions. You can find more details below.

I would kindly invite you to check if your staff would benefit from the training. The consultant is also available for briefing individual units between 20-23/06, if you would like a specific training for your team. If you consider either option useful for your unit, please ensure an advanced registration.

Best regards,

Vincent Grimaud

DETAILS
The purpose: to present the 2011 edition of the EU donor atlas and to promote to become a broadly used search tool by Commission services. The donor atlas transforms the OECD DAC aid statistics into a more appealing graphical presentation, extracts of which can be used in a wide range of analytical documents and briefings that Commission staff need to prepare. The donor atlas also shows "aid orphans", "aid darlings" in terms of countries and sectors. At the same time participants will receive a basic introduction into the use of different OECD DAC data bases and their specificities.
Participants will receive a "Vademecum": Introduction into the use of OECD DAC aid statistics and the EU donor atlas with relevant weblinks.
