NEW - ILO World Employment and Social Outlook - Trends 2015
Discussion details
The ILO World Employment and Social Outlook - Trends 2015 (former Global Employment Trends) does not present a very optimistic scenario.
This report finds that the global employment outlook will deteriorate in the coming five years.
Global unemployment is expected to increase by 3 million in 2015 and by a further 8 million in the following four years. Youth, especially young women, continue to be disproportionately affected by unemployment.
The employment situation is deteriorating in a number of Middle-income and developing regions. In most of these countries, underemployment and informal employment are expected to remain stubbornly high over the next five years.
Likewise, progress in reducing working poverty has slowed and inequalities have risen.
