New report: Green Growth Indicators
Discussion details
What is green growth? What is green economy? How can we measure them?
You may find answers to these and other questions in the new report "Moving towards a common approach on green growth indicators" launched by the Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) about a month ago.
At the European Commission we are also actively working on themes and we would like to hear your views on the proposals made in the report.

Highlights on the report:
The report "Moving towards a common approach on green growth indicators" is produced under GGKP Programme by the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the United Nations Environment Program, and Global Green Growth Institute.
Launched on 4 April 2013 during the second Annual Conference of the GGKP, this report presents a possible set of indicators to help countries monitor progress towards green growth and green economy.
The analysis identifies indicators specifically related to the following areas:
- Natural assets
- Environmental and resource productivity
- Environmental quality of life, including access to clean water
- Policies and economic opportunties
- Socio-economic context
The report looks at wealth accounting, including beyond GDP measures, and debate on outstanding challenges such as differences in definition and interpretation of Green Growth across countries, costly data collection and limited capacity to monitor and analyse data.
