The first of the videos to be launched during October: Month of Food Security, ‘EU activities to improve food security’ shows that the EU is actively helping to address hunger worldwide by investing in family farming which improves food security, creates jobs and fights poverty.

Published on the YouTube channel EU in the world, the two-minute-long video makes use of simple infographics and is suitable for a non-specialist, public audience. It shows that hunger is a problem in many parts of the world, leading directly to child deaths and conflicts.

The EU has allocated more than €8 billion to improve food and nutrition security and sustainable agriculture during 2014-2020. Today, the EU together with its member states is the biggest aid donor in the world while 85% of EU citizens believe that helping the poor is a priority.
