OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme
Discussion details
The OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme was launched in 2008 to support Eurasian economies in developing more vibrant and competitive markets.
Eurasia, composed by Eastern Europe, South of Caucasus and Central Asia, has a population of around 4.6 billion people, high level of education and abundant energy resources.
In this way, the programme aims to help create a sound business climate for investment, enhance productivity, support entrepreneurship, develop the private sector, and build knowledge-based economies to render this region more competitive and attractive to foreign investment.
The OECD Initiative is working with governments, the private sector and other organisations to strengthen legal and economic institutions, develop the SME sector, and increase the capacity of business representative organisations.
