Artists and researchers all over the world looking for a residency may submit their project proposals to Hotel Maria Kapel (HMK), a space for artist residency, exhibition and cinema in Hoorn, a town 40 km from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
HMK, founded in 2003, HMK is non-profit organization with the aim of bringing together new and established artists, curators and researchers from all the world and help create an exchange opportunity, both among the artists and with the public. An artist-run residency, since 2008 the HMK offers project space to individuals or groups willing to produce new projects or make a research and exhibit or present it to the public. The period of the residency depends on the needs of the project, although the residency usually hosts projects with a duration of 1-2 months.
Candidates are encouraged to present project proposals bringing together artists or components from more than one country, and making a good use of the remarkably big exhibition space. However, the HMK invites the artists to be "bold" and not to hesitate to propose projects not complying with these conditions.
Apart from the accommodation facilities, residents may also freely use working tools including some video and audio equipments, internet connection, kitchen utensils etc.
Applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of 15 euro.
Deadline of the open call for residencies in 2016 is June 1, 2015.
