Green Deal

We invite members of our group to participate in the public consultation launched by the Commission to collect opinions on the EU’s 2030 climate ambition increase and on the action and policy design necessary for deeper greenhouse gas emission reductions.

As part of the European Green Deal, the Commission will put forward a comprehensive plan to increase the EU’s 2030 climate target in September this year. The plan will propose to increase the EU’s current 2030 target of at least -40% greenhouse gas emission reductions to at least -50% and towards -55%, compared to 1990 emission levels.

Due to the broad nature of the initiative, all citizens and organisations are welcome to contribute to the consultation. A broad range of stakeholders are invited to provide inputs, including citizens and the civil society, businesses, NGOs, academia, national, regional and local authorities.

The consultation also aims to gather further information, including roadmaps, policy briefs and studies relevant for deeper greenhouse gas emission reductions.

The online consultation will be open for 12 weeks from 31 March until 23 June 2020.
