Participation in the Fifth National Symposium on Forestry

On October 11 the project positioning of forest governance (initiative funded by the European Union and led by CARDER), made ​​his presentation at the Fifth National Forestry Symposium, which will take place in the framework of the working group on Forestry community and Forest Governance.


The presentation focuses on the progress and developments of the project in its two years of operation; it passes indices showing the application of forest governance in the jurisdiction of the CAR members (routes and numbers of illegal forest pact legal timber, proposed modernization of the forestry administration, among other things). It also makes a contextualization of the timber sector in Colombia.

 The event is organized by the National University, Medellín, and aims to "create an academic, technical and institutional framework for forest-national environmental community, through which they disseminate and discuss the latest scientific developments , technology and best practices, as well as institutional and government approaches to international and local, in the context of the prospects for use, sustainable management and conservation of natural and planted forests. "
