PGFC and European Unión Meeting

Yesterday(February 6), the Director General of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Risaralda (CARDER), Dr Juan Manuel Alvarez Villegas, representing the Project Positioning of forest governance in Colombia, met with officials of the European Delegation to present the achievements and accomplishments of the action in 2012.

Similarly,during the meeting presented the Plan of Action of 2013, where the emphasis was on the major activities to be performed in this period, all aimed at internalizing the project work in the CAR members, seeking the implementation of technical instruments designed for the action, and creating strategies that illustrate the goals accomplished.

At the meetingit was established that all the strategies generated by the project during 2013 should revolve around sustainability and conservation of forests, reduction of Illegality Forestry and promote legal timber market.

It alsohighlighted the commitment of the various entities that belong to the project, which has shown interest in fulfilling the goals outlined in the logical framework in the POA of this period.
