Plan International Tanzania hand over Youth Economic Empowerment project

Last August, Plan International, a partner of the RNSF project, held a project end and handover event for its Youth Economic Empowerment project in Dar-es-Salam, Tanzania.
Plan International and its project implementing partners Voluntary Overseas Services (VSO), the Vocational Educational training Authority (VETA), Uhamasishaji Hifadhi Kisarawe, Community Development Relief Trust (CODERT) and Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) handed over the 3-year project "Partnership to enhance livelihoods and social inclusion of marginalised young people dependent on the informal economy”, popularly known as Youth Economic Empowerment (YEE) to the Tanzanian government.
This project of around 3.8 M€ reached 10,132 young people aged between 15 – 35 years exceeding the target number of 9,100. The external evaluation of the YEE project revealed that approximately 78% of beneficiaries are now in employment, 68% being self-employed while 10% are in formal employment.
