Duringthis week, the project held two important meetings to advance two of their technical proposals: 1) Forestry Administration Modernization in the 11 Jurisdictions CAR members, 2) Principles, Criteria and Indicators for Sustainable Forest Management. Which will be finalized, validated and approved the first months of 2013.

Duringthe meeting to review the progress of the proposed Forestry Administration Modernization indicators were revised management activities related to forest management undertaken by the Regional Autonomous Corporations project members, and made a sketch on current and context of forest management in the country.

As forthe other activity, project representatives met with Enrique Vega Gonzalez, Executive Director of the National Corporation for Forestry Research and Development (CONIF), in order to structure a proposal of Principles, Criteria and Indicators for Forest sustainable, which revolves around the themes of: Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management.

It is expected that in the coming days there is a joint initiative between PGFC and CONIF begin allowing first phase of work, where they set the road map that guides the activities of the following months.

One goal for 2013 is to stop all finished and printed products that have been designed for the action. So the commitment to move forward and complete the production of these two proposals became a priority for the entire project team.
