REUNION%20REVISION%20PROTOCOLO.JPGTechnical staff from The Positioning of Forest Governance Project in Colombia and the Department of Forestry, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development “MADS” (for its initials in Spanish), worked together in the final adjustment of the Protocol for the Evaluation of Management Plans and Forest use.

As a result, the methodological procedure, new, used formulas by the ministry, and the simplification of some processes were adjusted.

This Interagency work held in Pereira, from August 4th to 6th at PPGFC offices, was aimed to generate a technical tool for all CAR of the country, enabling them to improve the evaluation process of management plans and thereby to take forest sustainability oriented decisions. This protocol and the ones generated by the Project (3 in total) through the processes of cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, will become instruments to applied throughout the national territory.

The Positioning of Forest Governance Project is funded by the European Union and led by CARDER, in association with Corantioquia, Corpocaldas, CRC, Codechocó, Corponariño, Corponor, CRQ, Cortolima, Corpourabá, CVC, Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Asocars and Aldea Global.
