Yesterday was the beginning of the Regional Workshop on Social Protection from the Perspective of Informal Economy in Naivasha, Kenya.
After a series of introductory speeches by Pierre Ghilain (EC), Serena Bove (RNSF project director), Paolo Carlini (RNSF Team Leader) and John Belt (facilitator), the 25 participants had the opportunity to get know each other and familiarize themselves with the Writeshop methodology, which is to be used to facilitate the collective production of a book of recommendations.
Then they started to address the matter of the workshop with a presentation of the various aspects of social protection in Sub-Saharian Africa by Prof. Marios Olivier. Then they shared their preparatory work to the workshop, which gathered knowledge and experiences coming from 11 countries and various fields of expertise related to social protection.
