Dear All,

we (the OportUnidad project, 3rd call) have an open-issue with our Brazilian partner and the Brazilian regulation of federal universities in relation to the signature process of the internal bilateral agreement.

Our Brazilian partner explained to us that:

"As all federal universities in Brazil, they have a foundation that provides support to the financial administration of all partnership and collaboration contracts, whether national or international. This foundation was set up to work exclusively for the university and is part of the university. It is defined by federal law in Brazil that federal universities need to use the foundations as the legal entity responsible for administrating the financial aspects of the contracts, and that both the university and its respective foundation need to sign any contracts or agreements with the third party."

Do you have any experience with federal universities regulation in Brazil and how did you managed the internal contract?

Thanks for your advice!

Cristina

I´m from Brazil, from a public university. How do I help you?

Hi Maria! The question in plain English is: if you have signed an internal agreement with the project coordinator, have you included the Foundation behind the University in a trilateral agreement (i.e. BZ University - BZ Foundation - project coordinator)? That is what we are willing to do, in order for the BZ Foundation to adminiatrate the financial aspects of the project on behalf of the University, as per the request of our Brazilian partner. But we do not know if it is possible, being the University only the formal partner of the project.
Thanks!
Cristina

Hi Stefanelli

We have in our project two federal brazilian partners and we signed only with the university. I think the relation will be between the university and his own foundation. See sapuvetnet.org
