taller-bogotA2014.JPGNew contributions to the Communication Strategy Pact for Legal Timber in Colombia and the basis for the Plan of Action of the same in 2014, emerged from the recent workshop in Bogotá, with journalists and other representatives of the signatories of the Covenant.

At the event, Francisco Uribe , director ( e) of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Risaralda, CARDER , said that guests have come to the notice to proceed with the construction of actions that illustrate the Covenant , which are already part around 70 public and private entities.

"We are convinced of the need for progress in the consolidation of the Covenant , which not only represents a joint work by the law throughout the forest chain , but also a commitment to environmental sustainability , protecting and making appropriate use of natural forests and planted ... An international expert in forest governance noted in an event that changes in forest law require decades of work in our country have started this way , it is not the time to falter , " Uribe said.

Apart from the context of the communication actions of the last pieces PIMLC and disclosure presented , participants expressed the importance of having known the Strategy, made ​​last year, and which will fit with all the suggestions made in the tables the workshop .

Similarly building exercise of the Action Plan for this year was held in which representatives of institutions made ​​their contributions in terms of tactics, means and resources, which will review and schedule commitments and the coming weeks.

At the meeting held at the Engineers Club of Bogotá, April 24 , many attendees took the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the Covenant and unveiled various concerns on the issue . Buying Guide and Head of Forest Products Management for Colombia was also presented.

Workshop " Action Plan for the Implementation of the Communication Strategy PIMLC " whose wealth was in the interdisciplinary participation was organized under the Convention 77 of 2013 between the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, and CARDER , with coordination of the Technical Secretariat of PIMLC , and support positioning the Forest Governance Project in Colombia , and the World Wildlife Fund , known by its acronym in English as WWF - Colombia .

The Project Positioning Forest  Governance is funded by the European Union and led by CARDER , in association with Corantioquia , Corpocaldas , CRC , Codechocó , Corponariño , Corponor , CRQ , Cortolima , Corpourabá , CVC, Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Asocars and Aldea Global.
