The book Extending coverage: Social protection and the informal economy drafted during the RNSF Regional Workshop held last February in Kenya involved a mixed group of researchers, regional experts, members of civil society organizations, and public officers.

Among them was Anésio de Castro, who works as project manager and business advisor at Mowoza. Mozowa Mozambique is a mobile application that gives informal crossborder traders instant access to products and services, driving informal activities to the formal economy. He is also a business developer for the Mozambique Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry and for the Association of Informal Economy of Mozambique (AEIMO). He worked with projects on the creation and management of small enterprises and advised young entrepreneurs, focusing on financial inclusion, micro-banking and capacity building in collaboration with ILO and UN Women.

Anésio tells us about the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences from different countries that can improve the way we work in the informal economy and which ideas he is bringing back in Mozambique:
