South Sudan & the aid effectiveness agenda

ODI's Budget Strengthening Initiative has published a few new pieces on South Sudan that may be of interest to the group.

The first, South Sudan: domestic aid strategy and the New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States, looks at the interaction between the international aid effectiveness agenda and domestic aid strategy.

The second, South Sudan: the Juba Compact, charts the history of the 2009 compact between donors and the Government of South Sudan and looks at how it may be relevant to the implementation of the New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States, agreed to at HLF4 in Busan.
