Highlighting the significant role of creative industries as a driver for local economic development was the main objective of a convention organised by Project WEALTH (Promoting Local Sustainable Economic Development), funded in the framework of the EU’s Mediterranean Cross-Border-Cooperation Programme (CBCMed).

Held at the end of October, the convention was dedicated to exploring creative industries in the region of Puglia (Italy), allowing policy makers, representatives of civil society and researchers from the Negev (Israel), Algarve (Portugal) and Palestine to witness good practices, models and success stories.
A joint effort between Israel, Palestine, Italy and Portugal, Project Wealth aims to introduce new approaches to socio-economic development focused on the well-being of local communities.
Project WEALTH intends to introduce new approaches to the promotion of socio-economic development and enhancement of territories through alternative economic development practices. A Professional Euro-Network has been created under the project to engage key stakeholders of the Euro-Med area in interactive learning and exchange of expertise to foster local sustainable economic development.
The ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme 2007/2013 is a multilateral cross-border cooperation programme funded by the European Union under the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument.
