Vanuatu - Family Farms Development; an initiative to support family farms into successful business

What started out as a need for Vanuatu Direct Ltd to be assured of a supply of vegetables that would meet the strict International Food Safety requirements, ended up seeding several different initiatives including “Family Farms Development”

Chief Tom Nandap organized and selected those that would adhere to the simple rules from his community. The basis of the agreement is that growers must attend training sessions every week in order that they follow GAP ( Good Agricultural Practices). Farmers follow an eco farming system where the soil, trees, flowers, crops and bees are cared for in balanced harmony.  These training sessions are held on site and sponsored by Vanuatu Direct Ltd.
