Vanuatu ready to welcome first Chinese cruise group
Discussion details
Vanuatu will be marking on Monday December 12th, 2016 an historical milestone for the country’s cruise tourism sector. Preparations are underway to warmly welcome the first ever Chinese cruise ship to Vanuatu, Costa Cruise Atlantica with over 2000 Chinese passengers on board.
This is a welcome addition to an already busy December Cruise Ship schedule.
As with all cruise ship visitors, the Vanuatu Tourism Office wishes to encourage everyone to make every effort to welcome these visitors and help them enjoy their stay to secure Vanuatu’s position as the best cruise ship destination in the Pacific.
The announcement of Atlantica’s maiden arrival was relayed to the Minister of Tourism and Trade Deputy Prime Minister, Honorable Joe Natuman, through the Vanuatu Embassy in China, based in Beijing on Friday 4th November.
Caissa Touristic, the Chinese outbound tour operator and cruise package wholesaler, is one of the VTO’s strategic partners in China, selling packages to Vanuatu for Chinese group and independent travellers.
It has taken many visits, planning and friendship, between the Department of Tourism, the Vanuatu Tourism Office with the support of International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Cassia Touristic, both governments and embassies of Vanuatu and China, as well as cruise and tourism authorities to secure what we hope will be the first of many visits.
