What can the traditional development actors learn from how the private sector engages on social issues?

Most of today's refugees live not in camps, but in urban areas, where they might lack access to structured humanitarian and development assistance.

To address this Sonia Ben Ali, Ashoka Belgium fellow, launched Urban Refuges, a Paris-based incubator that works directly with refugee support groups in Asia and Africa to enhance their capacity to serve their communities and achieve long-term sustainability.

In this interview, we asked Sonia to share with us what has been the impact of Urban Refugees on her local community and what traditional development actor can learn from social entrepreneurs.
