Discussion details

This spring and summer, the Policy Forum on Development (PFD) started a process to gather input and recommendations to feed into the EU programming cycle. After the virtual regional discussion in July 2020, PFD members are now invited to join the first virtual global meeting to take place on 15 September 2020 which will consist of an exchange of views with Koen Doens, the Director General for International Cooperation and Development.

The focus of this virtual discussion will be on programming again and intends to continue the regional dialogues that focused on the objectives and priorities of EU programming and offered some suggestions on the tools and processes from PFD members.

The meeting is another step in gathering PFD members’ views as the EC responds to COVID-19, reinforces its commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement, and implements its overarching priorities (Green Deal, Digitalisation, Sustainable Growth and Jobs, Migration and Governance Peace and Security). The capitalisation process will continue this autumn through thematic meetings, written inputs and focus groups.

All the background materials and agenda of the virtual global meeting are accessible on this dedicated page.
