On September 9 the project Positioning of forest governance in Colombia (which is funded by the European Union in Colombia led by CARDER), will be visited by Jean Paul Blandiniers, representative of Project "Timber Trade Flow Within, to and from South America "which is part of the program FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade) of the European Commission.

The delegateof the European Union is seeking mission in Colombia: "deepen knowledge on the subject of concessions, permits and authorizations logging, determine the causes of the illegal timber trade and analyze the improvement actions Forest Governance "among other things.

To dohis agenda includes meetings with members of different institutions and projects related to forestry Colombia, for example: The Department of Forests and Ecosystem Services of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, ASOCARS, Fedemaderas, Working Group on Forest Certification Colombia, WWF (Colombia), among others.

InPereira, Blandiniers will meet with members of the Project, in order to obtain information on the progress of forest governance in the country and learn about the different proposals to combat trafficking of wood. Similarly, we have scheduled a talk with officials CARDER, to show the whole issue of licenses and permits logging carried out in Risaralda, and teach the different proposals for the conservation and sustainable management of forests that been built since the Corporation.
