Web trends and future in 2012
Discussion details
So if we want to be modern, which are the trends to be followed?
1. In 2011, simple colours top the screen:think about green, yellow, or red as a primary colour, and limit yourself to 2-3 colours and their light nuances.
2. Previous option to have mobile version is no longer valid, now mobile sites include option to visit original site. If it is not a case, we are not ready for 2011 or 2012 with ipads, notepads and etc on the market. Touch screen option not to be forgotten.
3. Latest web design trends create the sense of "depth" – visiting site is as if falling profoundly in.
Scrolling is an issue – Have you checked Yahoo lately? Or this site is an example: http://www.rowtothepole.com/
4. Photographic backgrounds:
State of Utahhttp://www.utah.gov/index.html
State of Alabamahttp://www.alabama.gov/portal/index.jsp
"Living Social" or BING are similar to Utahsite – search engine + a superb daily changing photo on the screen

5. USA Recovery website has it all (social media, search, graphs, multimedia, including a section per profile "looking for?" just in case you want a tailored guidance…) http://www.recovery.gov/pages/default.aspx
6. Patrick knows how much I love some of CSS 3 features, and yes, they are getting more and more trendy! Get ready for nice rounded corners and feminine soft touch!
7. What's in the future? Single page web design with a slide show! http://www.mikeglezos.com/ (probably not for Europa site, but definitely should be used for events or competitions!)
8. Wonder which font to use: Arial or Times New Roman? Well, even Microsoft Word 2010 uses Calibri "par default"…
9. And the best use of the website in the social media would include fo course USA winner Starbucks http://www.facebook.com/Starbucks This is where our EEAS colleagues are heading, and it's a revolution to be watched out throughout 2012. or example of US mission to African Union, where the web communication is not that easy, they use facebook web communication: http://www.facebook.com/pages/US-Mission-to-the-African-Union/93218692247
