Webinar Series N°6: What does the Green Deal mean in practice?

Find out more in the upcoming ‘European Green Deal - Greening EU cooperation’ webinar series N°6, organised by DG INTPA (units F1 and F2) and DG NEAR.

Through these webinars, you can strengthen your capacity to green EU initiatives by learning how to better integrate biodiversity, environment, climate change and disaster risk reduction into all policies, programmes and investments supported by EU international partnerships. 

Webinar N°1: Water and Climate Change Adaptation

Date: 13 September 2022 – From 13:00 to 15:00

This two-hour training will help enhance participants' knowledge and understanding of the relationship between water and climate change adaptation. The opportunities and challenges regarding the interrelationships between water and adaptation to climate change will be discussed, especially in the framework of the identification and formulation of actions.

Webinar N°2: Forest-based value chains and wood

Date: 20 September 2022 – From 10:00 to 12:00

In this training session, participants will discuss opportunities and challenges associated with the development of forest-based value chains in partner countries, with a specific focus on wood value chains. Options will be presented for EU support which aims at ensuring that forest-based value chains deliver the desired products and impact (job, income, resilience) while enhancing biodiversity and preserving the socio-cultural value of forests.

Webinar N°3: Nationally Determined Contributions & their Monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) system – from the Paris Agreement on Climate

Date: 27 September 2022 – From 13:30 to 15:00

Through this webinar, participants will learn how to strengthen and accelerate climate action through technical assistance and targeted investment for NDC implementation in partner countries. 

Wébinaire N°4 : Contributions Déterminées Nationales & leur système de mesure, rapportage et vérification (MRV), issues de l’Accord de Paris sur le Climat

Date: 27 Septembre 2022 – De 16:00 à 17:30

Grâce à ce webinaire, le personnel du siège de l'UE et des délégations apprendra comment renforcer et accélérer l'action climatique grâce à une assistance technique et à des investissements ciblés pour la mise en œuvre des CDN dans les pays partenaires.

Webinar N°5: Transboundary water management

Date: 04 October 2022 – From 12:30 to 14:30

At this learning session, knowledge on transboundary water cooperation frameworks and arrangements will be enhanced. Participants will discuss opportunities and challenges linked to transboundary water management, particularly in the framework of joint actions between riparian countries.

Webinar N°6: Valuing ecosystem services and the use of nature-based solutions - Embedding Biodiversity in the EU’s external cooperation

Date: 12 October 2022 – From 10:15 to 12:45

Learn how biodiversity can be integrated into other sectors like transport, energy, cities, water, and agriculture, making use of ecosystem services to address the needs of the sector, while conserving biodiversity for a liveable future on our planet (‘working WITH nature instead of against it’).This training will include a special focus on the countries covered by the enlargement and neighbourhood policies.
